Video Poker is a beloved game that can be bet on in casinos all over the globe, or alternatively at your house on your PC, through a web connection. The regulations are very straightforward and involve the player trying to achieve the best assemblage of cards possible in order to come away with cash. In this respect it’s very similar as a regular game of poker, minus the interaction with any other players. The game of Electronic Poker starts when the gambler puts credits (either tokens, tickets or cash) into the machine and pushes the deal button. A five card hand will then be electronically ‘given out’ on the video screen.

For the cards the enthusiast would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they wish, whether it’s all or none.

After the gambler has decided on which cards he would like to retain, they should press ‘deal’, at which point any fresh cards are handed out if desired. The game is now finished, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands printed on the payout schedule.

Generally, the minimum succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money growing for each and every better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It goes without saying that the payout schedule can change from game to game, so that discerning players are able to choose the most profitable ones each and every instance.

After the initial round has played out, the player can either choose to continue on and try to to maximize their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any cash that has been won. Additionally, several styles of the game give the bettor a chance to double their winnings, in which case another round is played. There are also variations between individual machines, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other differing characteristics to increase playability.
