Electronic Poker is a beloved game that is able to be wagered on in casinos all over the world, or in your house on your computer, through a web account. The game rules are very simple and consist of the player attempting to get the best assemblage of cards possible in order to acquire money. In this respect it is very similar as a normal game of poker, minus the line of contact with any other players. Of course, methods used in a physical game of poker, such as bluffing, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.

The game of Electronic Poker starts when the gambler puts credits (either tokens, tickets or cash) into the machine and presses the deal button. A hand of five cards will be electronically ‘handed out’ on the video screen.

The Electronic Poker game also has hold buttons, and gamblers should now choose which cards to hold and which to discard. For the cards the gambler wishes to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any amount of cards they want, whether it is all or none.

After the enthusiast has chosen which cards he would like to keep, they should press ‘draw’, at which point any fresh cards are given out if desired. The game is now completed, with the Video Poker machine scanning the cards to see if it matches any of the winning hands printed on the payment schedule.

Typically, the lowest succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money getting larger for each better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It definitely goes without saying that the pay out schedule can change from machine to machine, so that experienced bettors are agile enough to pick the most profitable game every time.

After the first round has played out, the player can either choose to continue on in an attempt to maximize their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any credits that they may have won. Additionally, several versions of the game give the player an opportunity to increase their winnings, in which situation another round is played. There are also variations among individual machines, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other differing elements to increase playability.
