Video Poker is a favored game that usually will be gambled on in casinos across the world, or in your house on your home computer, using a net connection. The game rules are very straightforward and consist of the player attempting to get the highest combination of cards as you can in order to come away with money. On this account it’s much the same as a regular game of poker, minus the interaction with other players. Of course, techniques used in a real-life game of poker, like tricking, will be irrelevant here.

The game of Electronic Poker starts when the enthusiast puts credits (whether it’s tokens, credit slips or money) into the machine and pushes the play button. A hand of five cards will then be "dealt" on the video screen.

The Electronic Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and enthusiasts should now choose which cards to keep and which to discard. For the cards the player would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they wish, from all to none.

After the bettor has decided on which cards he or she wishes to keep, they should press ‘draw’, which will mean that any new cards are needed they will be handed out. The game is now completed, with the Video Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands shown on the pay out schedule.

Generally, the lowest winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money getting larger for each and every better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It is obvious that the payment schedule can change from machine to machine, so that discerning enthusiasts are agile enough to select the most profitable machine each and every instance.

After the first round has completed, the player can either choose to remain on in an attempt to increase their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any cash that they may have won. Further, a few styles of the game allow the player a chance to increase their profits, in which case a further round is played. There are also variations among specific games, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other differing elements to enhance playability.
